The Brahmapur Bada Bazar police on Saturday arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in the brutal attack on businessman Rabindra Sahu at Sarguna Street Square here on June 13.
They were identified as Santosh Kumar Panda, Alok Dash, Heena Panda and Kishan Behera of Sarguna Street, informed IIC Suresh Kumar Tripathy.
While Sahu was returning home on his motorcycle in the night, some miscreants intercepted and abused him at Sarguna Street. Following a quarrel, they attacked Sahu with a sword, injuring him severely. They snatched away his bike and fled from the spot.
Sahu had to be shifted from the MKCG Medical College Hospital to a hospital in Vishakhapatnam as his condition deteriorated.
Acting on the complaint filed by Sahu's wife Gayatri, the police conducted investigation. Apart from arresting the accused, the police have too recovered the bike and two swords from them. One of the accused named Bagha is still at large.
The motive behind the incident was past rivalry, said the IIC.
